What type of geek are you?

About me: I am an everyday Joe Schmoe that enjoys spending way too much time on the internet. Internet technologies such as XHTML, PHP, CSS, and FLASH are my best friends and hobbies. They are daily learning experiences and I enjoy sharing what I learn with others.

The Z Geek FamilyThere is spam and then there is SPAM. We discuss spam regularly here at Flash by Z. Lots of fun to be had with Spammers that create profiles. My personal favorite is changing their URL (website) to http://www.honeypot.org. For whatever reason these profiles never seem to comment on our site.

What if it is in-house spam? Good lord. Desi claims that I am a geek due to my computer and internet savy but… She is a Star Wars and Monty Python junkie. Who is the bigger geek? Computer geek vs. Star Wars/Monty Python. Who wins this battle? I will cast the first vote for Desi being the biggest geek. Yes, I am a webmaster and the office IT guy but her spam comments take the WIN. =) http://flashbyz.com/blog/spam-spam-and-more-spam/ Check out the comment section.

So, what type of geek are you?

I am an ‘ancient’ geek . . . ‘ancient’ not as in wise but as in ‘I really don’t know what I am doing but I sure try’ and I am VERY TRYING :(

    I cast my vote -

Star Wars and Monty Python junkies are more geekie than webmasters and IT guys . . . they eat it – breathe it – LIVE IT!

Now this is not to say I don’t respect Desi’s hobbies – I do – but we were asked to vote :)

Computer geeks will always win. They are the ones who hit the buttons :-)

Monty Python is not too bad but I forget to watch when I’m working on the computer ….. You could watch Monty Python in YouTube – at least parts of the movies.

Hmmmm. Well I know a certain someone from high school who played Dungeons and Dragons on on the back of the school bus during band trips. He and his best friend would walk the halls of school quoting lines from the Dark Knight as well as Blazing Saddles and most of the novel Hitchhickers Guide to the Galaxy! He could name every ship in every Star Wars movie………and he has mad codeing skills to boot. I may be a geek but I married a hybrid. The best of both worlds. (Yes we were Band Geeks as well……aren’t we just the geekiest?)

I know a certain somebody that was in the Elf class; a warrior that always ended up in a brothel tent. Congrats on rolling that 1-4 on a d20.

Yea! I think you guys cheated. No matter what I rolled I always ended up in the tent…..that’s not right! By the way thanks for proving my point. Only a Dungeon & Dragons master would know what a 1-4 on a d20 is. I love you…you Barbarian Monk you! :)

No such class! phhblt! We preferred to be called Dungeon Masters or DM for short. HA! I haven’t played since my days at Texas Tech circa 1986.

    Love it!
I do have to find out how to trigger this kind of discussions. It gives a nice view of the deeper secrets of your youth …. :-)
Even had a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dungeons_&_Dragons to find out what this D&D stuff was all about. Think I’d rather be a computer geek … :-)
