Eric’s REVIEW:
Desi and I went to see Clash of the Titans last night. It was not blog inspiring like Alice in Wonderland but it was a fun movie. We highly recommend it. We both agree that there was not enough owl. Do not go to this movie thinking remake or for nostalgic reasons. If you do, you will be sorely disappointed.
Clash of the Titans was a fantasy, action packed movie that can stand on its own two legs. Fun, fun, fun. ‘Release the Kracken.’
DESi’s REVIEW:
Eric and I were both huge fans of the original “Clash Of The Titans” back in 1981. It had a great storyline, VERY campy stop-motion special effects and a little tongue and cheek humor sprinkled throughout . The blatantly cheesy effect was one of the unique qualities that made the original so enduring. With that being said; neither one of us went to see this remake with the expectation that it would pay homage to the original.
True to that expectation this “Clash” delivered with over-the-top special effects; and how. Sadly the story line suffered a bit for it. An inconsistency or two and some trailing off of plot thought were a disappointment but not so bad that it made the movie less enjoyable. If you go wanting fabulous special effects and a “Clash of The Titans” that takes itself a little more seriously then you’ll be pleased with the finished product. If you go hoping to recapture the warm and fuzzy 1980′s feel then don’t bother…you WILL be disappointed.
